Eric's 10 Best of 2010

Here we go and only a week later than New Year's Day... my faves of 2010 (in no particular order):

Exit Through The Gift Shop (d. Banksy?)

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World (d. Edgar Wright)

Black Swan (d. Darren Aronofsky)

Winter's Bone (d. Debra Granik)

True Grit (d. Joel and Ethan Coen)

Four Lions (d. Chris Morris)

The Social Network (d. David Fincher)

The Kids Are All Right (d. Lisa Cholodenko)

127 Hours (d. Danny Boyle)

The Ghost Writer (d. Roman Polanski)

Honorable Mentions: Jackass 3D (totally serious about this one), Shutter Island, Restrepo, Waiting For Superman, Kick-Ass, Red Riding Trilogy (technically I guess this should be a 2009 pick but there you go).

Most Disappointing: Inception (allow me to clarify -- I think it's a good movie. But really overrated by a lot of people out there. That's all)

And there you have it. I hope you all get off on your New Year's resolutions.

  1. Good list, Eric. I've missed most of these so far. Totally agree on how overrated Inception is (ambiguousness isn't brilliant, it's just ambiguous), and Scott Pilgrim is totally my favorite movie of the year, so good call there.

Oh, love the question mark about who directed "Exit through the Gift Shop"

  2. that really should say "ambiguity" instead of "ambiguousness" but whatever.
