HALFTIME REPORT
At the midpoint of the year. This is my list of the best films that I have seen this year so far. Will these films make my end of the year list in the same position. Probably not though some might surprise and prosper. Keeping their place or at least staying on the list as most likely most will at least be on my honorary mention list.
Keep in mind the early months of he year are usually slow and when studios offer film that are more quick cash on's as they don't know when else to schedule it and if it is going to make money it will probably be when there is hardly anything new of quality and some are still catching up with holiday releases. And/or Oscar nominated films. The films offered feel more like singles then actual good full albums as they feel either like a gimmick or seem to have only one quality going for it.
Also take note of these films and see them When/if you can whole you can. As i am sure none will disappoint. I have been watching a lot of documentaries
The following films will most likely make it as honorary mentions. Though might make corn backs and make the final list. Maybe all it takes it a rewatch. Keep in mind this is a halftime report and where my mind is at now

Jeff,
ReplyDeleteI would like to see Me And Earl And The Dying Girl. It got 1.5 stars on the Ebert site, but I hate film critics. I don't always agree with you (I hated The Raid: Redemption). However, I would rather listen to your opinions than professional film critics. As far as Me And Earl And The Dying Girl, I'll take your word for it.
Thanks for watching Red October, Right Stuff, and Pauline At the Beach. They are classics and need to be seen.
Thank you, I can't say how much that means to me and i truly appreciate it, Christopher.
DeleteI will try to keep it real and let my opinions on film be known.
