A young girl, chained in the basement of a sexual predator, escapes and turns the tables on her captor.

Adequate film making is on display in this film. Only wish there was a more original story to tell. The film tries at various points to tweak what seems like a revenge tale and make it mysterious and dangerous. Though it stays mostly predictable.

The director adds so much unnecessary style that it eventually feels like overkill that becomes more evident to distract from the fact it doesn't have much of a story to tell. It all feels too simple. Not that it ever said or promised that it was going to be more.

It's interesting to see Richard Tyson. The once mighty villain bully of THREE O'CLOCK HIGH. Here play the villain again. Here he is captive most of the time. Though he still stays dangerous throughout with motives. As he keeps taunting and playing mind games. Though he is good here wish the film was as good as his performance in fact I wish the film had more to offer.

Early in there are clues to the back story as the film jumps Into the action quickly and offers quick glimpses of the past as flashbacks.

As the film continues and the lead tries to free other victims of his reign. Each one proves to be a challenge.

It seems the only reason themselves female doesn't use logic to turn him into the police is out of Vengeance. a strategy hat seems to be what the villain wants and of course if not there would be no movie.

I will give credit that In the middle of the action, she seems to develop guilt or post traumatic stress syndrome. At least that seems like an original element.

The film gets better as it goes along, but it still feels repetitive to a degree. The film chooses to take the victim vigilante revenge fantasy and turns it looks on it's ear or at least adds a degree where the victim might actually help do more damage to the other victims by deciding to take the law into her own hands and proves at times to be more vicious then her captor or not vicious enough as the onslaught continues throughout.

It’s not wall to wall action. There are attempt to let tension build and add some suspense.

At least there is a noticeable absence of rape and sexual violence. It is more hinted at then suggested or shown. It's surprising the film doesn't go in that direction. Considering it's narrative that is built upon it or our memories of films like it. The film tries and almost manages to be something special. As once in awhile it becomes riveting especially once it gets really started and into focus.

It's pretty easy to see where it is going though it tries to throw you off. Making it seem like a bigger conspiracy then might actually be there.

I give to kudos for what it hints at, that might not actually be.

The film seems more sensationalistic than anything else. If that is what you are looking for then this film is for you.

The film is entertaining above all else. It's eventual ending is really good.
