Films Watched In March
THE FIRST WIVES CLUB 7/10
Not the first time i have seen it, Nice to see it again after not seeing it for a number of years. Still a guilty pleasure a nice snapshot of a bygone era in new york.
MANHUNTER 8/10
A revelation. Dated but still is thrilling. Better then Red Dragon.
SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD 9/10
Saw it yet again, Still classic
THE GREY 8/10
Surprisingly good and gripping, Much better then i thought it would be.
THE INTERRUPTERS 8/10
Penetrating documentry
THE SITTER 7/10
A R-rated Adventures in Babysitting. Funny and touching and weird
LOVERBOY 5/10
A time machine for me. I remember the commercials for this on TV and couldn't wait to see it on home video. Not a great film but the type of high concept low budget studios were burning off stupid with a cast that has a bunch of aging stars. As well as cementing my theory that Ashton Kutcher is a modern Version of PAtrick Dempsey in the 80's
MR. NICE 6/10
A compelling story that just didn't connect with me.
PROMEDIO ROJO 7/10
Cruse, Gritty and it's a comedy. Definately inventive and heartbreaking. Speaks to the underdog.
FEMALE PRISONER 701: SCORPION 7/10
Crazy, yet entertaining and over the top, Basic story by now. Definately influenced Tarantino when making Kill Bill
FEMALE PRISONER 701: BEAST STABILE 4/10
Inferior sequel boring and not even innovative or really expoitive
THE DARK KNIGHT 10/10
Damn near perfect. Again not my first time seeing it
MURDER BY DEATH 7/10
Great old school underated comedy
SILVERADO 8/10
The first western i ever saw next to Pale rider. All star cast. film still hold a special place in my heart
21 JUMP STREET 8/10
See my Review
HEREAFTER 7/10
Not bad a gripping story that could have been a little better but a good rental
REAL STEEL 7/10
Surpringly ok, keeps you entertained and a nice family film of rock 'em sock 'em robots
THE RAID: REDEMPTION 9/10
Kick ass action film, So far one of the best films i have seen all year, Original yet familiar
DIE HARD: WITH A VENGENCE 8/10
I like to imagine part 2 now we see mcclaine on his own turf, Still this is where he began to almost be a superhero while still being human.
FAST FIVE 6/10
Great action and stunt work, That's really it, you;ve seen it before, Well filmed Wish the script could be better but they are on part 5 how innovative can the story be at this point
THE MUPPETS 7/10
Not as good as the classic ones, This one is a good student of the original. Unfortunately misses the magic of the original, but at least it tries adn is creative.

I have a hard time rewatching Dark Knight because it makes no logical sense. It's good, but the Joker's actions don't actually track, since he would have had to have a crazy amount thought out beforehand, defeating the purpose of the seeming random chaos.
ReplyDeleteI thought The Grey was brilliant. It was pretty much marketed as "Liam Neeson punches wolves!" but turned out to be much more than that.
ReplyDeleteBeen wanting to see Mr Nice for a while, despite hearing some bad things and that it differs from the book quite a bit.
