I have never seen brutality filmes so beautifully. This film is a total surprise that i don't want to spoil any minute of. It is like the film AUDITION where you think you have a handle on the film. It changes up on you.
I don't want to give too much away. this is a film to discover. i will say it involves a rash of murders in a high-tech Apartment complex.
The film begins as what seems like a slasher film, but as the film goes on it reveals itself to be a social satire. Then it becomes a dark comedy. then it becomes a political satire. Then the film ends with a cruel punchline. Which would explain why it has a surprisng amount of comedy despite the atrocities you see on screen.
The film definately breaks boundries and is shocking at times. It feels like the film is going over the top intentionally to shock or in a sick way, Try to impress.
Except for one particularly cruel death scene. I was shocked as the film came from nowhere Practically. I admire the film The film is gratuitous but at least it has a reason to be. It's not just there to be cool or please genre fans. It shows a lot of thought has gone into each scene.
It is not only gratuitous in violence, but also in nudity and sex. It doesn't shy away form anything. as the film goes along we find out the motivation for what happens in the film.
It is a ruthless film, but very enjoyable with a wicked sense of humor.
In love that the killer is vulnerable not a unstoppable killing machine. As with most slashers. Here the killer is more or less pushed into their actions. One killing is motivated by something totally different then what we believe the film lead us to believe is the motivation.
I loved the film. It is a must watch. A definite additiion to the home library.
