Written & Directed By: Adam Goldstein & Eric Kutner
Cinematography By: Andrew Hasse

Cast: Adam Goldstein, Nina Braddock, Melanie Case, Valerie Weak, Stefanie Goldstein, Nancy G. Heine, Katheryn Hecht, Margaret Cho

Ken's an inveterate womanizer who joins an all female body image support group to put the moves on Talia, a young woman with an eating disorder

This is a film that has a original Interesting premise but for all the opportunities it has to try and be a small indie that could be heartwarming and demented. It instead goes for the later thinking it will be more original and funny that way.

It's heartlessness does give the film a different momentum, but leads to an ending you know is coming. While giving off a hint of reality. --I give the film credit for what it accomplished with it’s low 20,000 budget, Though that budget does hamper the film and it’s possibilities greatly.

For it's obvious shoestring budget he filmmakers manage to still make the film appealing with it's shots and locations. It looks like a actual production. The actors in it aren't movie star beautiful. They are average looking which makes the film more relateable, Which Is good as the lead his off-kilter looks add to the desperation and drive of his character, though he is so transparent it's hard to believe that he could pull the wool over so many people’s eyes Especially trained counselors.

He is our protagonist and while the film makes him detestable at times he then will turn around and show a decency

This film revolves around a deluded guy who sees himself as a playboy but is rarely successful. In fact when he is he doesn't know what to do he falls in love with a girl he see's at a cafe and Follows her and joins her body Image and disorder group to get close to her as the film goes each week he has to partner up with a different member of the group before he can get to her. So almost like we watch him slowly try to get redemption as he gets closer to his desire. He seems to bond with each member on their individual time. Each one a fun scene and a adventure.

What I liked is that when he finally gets to her. She really isn't that special and kid of a monster and really has a disorder. Where as the other ladies in the group seem more or less trivial, she is more hardcore with her problems . Also other then her disorder she isn't interesting.

Now at this point the film could have gone many ways. He gets her he way he wants and discover how deep her problems are and becomes more concerned for her well enough and gets her to seek help. she dumps him and then by the end is better and gives an inkling of getting back of together.

Some of the other possible endings that could have been more satisfying He discovers he actually does have a body image disorder and really needs the help and puts the romance on hold as he needs to heal himself first. And revealing the truth to the ladies helps him become a better person bonding with them, Or He doesn't date him he realizes she is only using him. Turns her into the group. She exposes him too and he desperately tries to become friends with them once he realizes how empty his life is without them.

Instead the rest of the film is he gets her, turns into a jerk. He helps enable her to keep up her disorder. She is really not appealing or nice, but since they are having sex he is happy. Then he is discovered as a fraud after she comes dangerously close to dying with her disorder his life turns to shambles. She calls him to spring her from rehab and he makes his only good decision.

I liked that the film avoided clichés by having her in a send rise him back giving her body which she hate anyway for snacks to feed her disorder.

I also like the fact that he is obsessed with her, but she is really unappealable. Not that good looking really, bitchy just very unpleasant and in appealing. Yet he wants her and when we do feels sport for her having this disorder. It is hard to feel sorry for her in general.

The film is something different. I'd say wait for t though this film doesn't have a chance of being shown there. If the premise sounds Interesting you should give it a chance.

It's a nice attempt but one of he few things the film has going for it is the performance of the lead actor, Writer and Director Adam Goldstein

he is such a live wire that he captains this ship as much as he can and almost makes it worth viewing

Grade: D+
